Salvadera Herbs

Salvadera is one of our best selling herbs, and its name explains why people trust it: it comes from salvar, "to save." It's reached for when someone needs a strong cleansing. Each order is one fresh bunch.

What is Salvadera used for?

Salvadera is used in strong spiritual baths and despojos to clear heavy energy, bad luck and negative influences. It's the herb people turn to when they feel things have gone wrong and they need a reset.

How do people use it?

• Strong spiritual baths: the leaves are torn into water for a deep cleansing bath.
• Despojos: the bunch is passed over the body to pull off heavy energy.
• Home cleansing: the water is used to wash floors and doors after a difficult time.

It's often paired with herbs like Rompesaragüey or Espanta Muerto for a stronger cleansing. Your godparent or olorisha will tell you exactly how it fits into your own work, since every house has its own way.

Why buy it from El Viejo Lázaro?

We've been a botanica in Miami since 2003, led by Oba Oriate Nelson Hernández, and fresh herbs are one of the things our customers count on us for most. In Lucumí practice every ewe belongs to Osain, the Orisha of the forest, so we treat these leaves with respect from the day they arrive. We ship fresh herbs anywhere in the United States.
