Tua Tua is one of those herbs people talk about with respect. It has a reputation as a strong cleanser, the kind you use when something heavy needs to go. Each order is one fresh bunch.
What is Tua Tua used for?
Tua Tua is used in strong despojos and cleansings to break negative work, remove envy and clear energy that won't lift with gentler herbs. In English the plant is known as bellyache bush.
How do people use it?
- Strong despojos: the bunch is passed over the body to pull off heavy energy.
- Cleansing baths: it's added to bath water when a strong cleansing is needed.
- Home cleansing: the water is used on floors and doors after a hard time.
Tua Tua is for external spiritual use only and should never be eaten or made into tea. Your godparent or olorisha will tell you how it fits into your own work, since every house has its own way.
Why buy it from El Viejo Lázaro?
We've been a botanica in Miami since 2003, led by Oba Oriate Nelson Hernández. In Lucumí practice every ewe belongs to Osain, the Orisha of the forest, so fresh herbs are handled with respect here from the day they come in. We ship them fresh anywhere in the United States.
